Studying at "Dio"

The Master of Divinity Program
is integrated with the B.Th. programme of the Faculty of Religious Studies of McGill University. Students must have a first degree to be admitted to the 60-credit B.Th. programme which, combined with the In Ministry Year, amounts to a three-year course of full-time study leading to the M.Div. degree.

Diploma in Ministry
Candidates who do not have a prior B.A. degree or equivalent may apply for admission to the McGill University Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.) programme (90 credits) plus the In Ministry Year. These students are eligible for the Diploma in Ministry (Dip.Min.) awarded by the Montreal School of Theology.

Licentiate in Theology
In special circumstances, and with the approval of the candidate's bishop, arrangements may be made for a student to undertake two years of full-time theological study under the College's direction (usually either at McGill or Concordia University).

S.T.M.  Master of Sacred Theology
Candidates who already possess a B.A. in theology or religious studies with at least a good second class standing may apply for admission to a two-year McGill S.T.M. program.

Reading and Tutorial Program
Provide the academic component of training for ordained ministry by means of home study under the guidance of a local tutor appointed by the College.

The Centre for Lay Education at MDTC
The Centre for Lay Education exists to promote Christian adult education amongst the laity of the Diocese of Montreal.  The Director, the Rev. Tim Smart, works with the laity and the clergy of the Diocese to bring educational resources to the parishes and to host educational events for the Diocese.
